One such major corporate client is Farnell, a global distributor of electronic components.

Since 2006, our interpreters regularly visit the distribution centre of Premier Farnell at Liège Airport to provide simultaneous interpreting at various events. As it is an industrial site, it is not possible to install an interpreting booth in the sorting center during the company’s “town hall” style conference events. So our interpreters use portable interpreting equipment called infoport system or tour guide system. This wireless interpreting system can be put into use in a matter of minutes, and it enables interpreting on the move when taking visitors around the sorting center. The guests can benefit from simultaneous interpreting whilst moving around the company premises, everywhere they go.

This same interpreting equipment (also called “bidule” in Brussels jargon) is also used to perform simultaneous interpretation during meetings between unions and management (often in English and French).
