Colingua enjoys the reputation of being the leading interpreting company in Liège and is seen as setting the standard for others in the industry. Located in the heart of Liège, our translation and interpreting client portfolio includes government institutions and many of the Liège region’s largest and most prestigious blue-chip companies.
One such major corporate client is Farnell, a global distributor of electronic components.
Since 2006, our interpreters regularly visit the distribution centre of Premier Farnell at Liège Airport to provide simultaneous interpreting at various events. As it is an industrial site, it is not possible to install an interpreting booth in the sorting center during the company’s “town hall” style conference events. So our interpreters use portable interpreting equipment called infoport system or tour guide system. This wireless interpreting system can be put into use in a matter of minutes, and it enables interpreting on the move when taking visitors around the sorting center. The guests can benefit from simultaneous interpreting whilst moving around the company premises, everywhere they go.
This same interpreting equipment (also called “bidule” in Brussels jargon) is also used to perform simultaneous interpretation during meetings between unions and management (often in English and French).
Farnell element14 is a distributor of advanced technology products, services and solutions for electronic system design, maintenance and repair, with their two main European offices being in Belgium (Liège) and in Leeds.
